By Karen Jurgens Adriana Somberg has experienced what no woman ever wants to go through, but ultimately many of us will. She watched her beloved husband Reed die of prostate cancer. He was 59. That was one year ago. Since then she has dedicated her life to raising awareness of the disease by founding Anglers For The Cure, a fishing tournament to be held August 28-29, 2015 in Reed’s honor at Sailfish Marina & Resort in Singer Island, Florida. Registration for the tournament is open now. A large portion of the money raised from the tournament will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Donations will also be made to Treasure Coast Hospice and Hospice of Palm Beach County. The money will be used to fund research and education on the importance of a simple, non-invasive blood test that men need to begin at age 50, or earlier if risk factors are present, to screen for prostate-specific antigen, PSA. Krystal Glass Company, a custom glass etching company in South Florida, is proud to be one of the sponsors of Anglers For The Cure. Glass artist Peter Edward has created and donated an etched glass sailfish sculpture in an LED illuminated base. The art glass is valued at $400. Etched glass with nautical designs is popular here in South Florida, especially among boaters and people who enjoy sport fishing. The etched glass sailfish will be used in the silent auction to raise money for the cause. “I can’t thank you enough. You and Peter are angels,” Adriana told me when she picked up the etched glass sailfish at our showroom....

A stunning new three-panel art glass design of two elegant etched glass peacocks standing at a fountain is now on display at the Krystal Glass Company showroom in Pompano Beach, Florida. In our 35 years of creating custom fine art glass, this is one of the most beautiful pieces ever created by Peter Edward, glass artist and president. The highly detailed art is etched and carved in glass by hand with meticulous detail. Peter Edward is known for his intricate shading techniques in etched glass throughout elaborate designs like the feathers of the peacocks. The drops of water flowing from the fountain as it sprays upward give the piece movement and create a unified scene. The pieces are illuminated with bright white LED lights. Each panel is 26″ wide x 72″ high and is custom made and framed in lightweight low profile black metal. Peter Edward designed the trio to hang on a wall wherever a stunning visual statement is desired in a home, business or vessel. Each piece has its own French cleat on the back so installation is easy. He designed the art to flow best with a spacing of 1″ between panels for a total width of 80″. The backing of the pieces is black for dramatic contrast with the white LED illumination. The pieces can easily be converted into a free-standing screen as well. The trio is ready for a new home and can be delivered and installed in the South Florida area or safely crated, insured and shipped anywhere. All art glass created by Krystal Glass Company is custom and available in any size, shape and design for a wide...

The carved glass art for Island Heiress had to be stunning, but first they had to find the right glass artist. The artist needed to be capable of custom art etched and carved on glass with extreme detail and care. They called Krystal Glass Company and made a visit to our showroom. “You provided a comfort level for us. We knew we were at the right place just by talking to you on the phone,” Dana said. Krystal Glass Company recently completed this custom 10-foot illuminated carved glass art for Island Heiress. “Pete hit it out of the ballpark,” Dana said. “It is really over the top. We love it and it is much more than we expected. It looks amazing, nothing short of stunning.” Rob and Dana called Krystal Glass Company after seeing carved glass art by other glass artists at boat shows, in Las Vegas and in magazines. They spent time viewing the online photographs and previous art glass for yachts and boats on our website www.KrystalGlassCompany.com and were impressed with the variety of completed art glass projects, different sizes and lighting options. They came in and had a consultation with Glass Artist Peter Edward about the art glass they wanted to commission for their main salon area to serve as a room divider. “The choices were amazing. Much more than the others had,” Dana said. “The website shows talent. Pete is very interactive to talk to. He really listens, and he told us what would look best.” Peter Edward carefully coordinated the artwork with the clients to...
